This booklet comprises a review of the principal metabolic and infectious diseases which can affect cattle in confinement, a relatively new system of keeping cattle in Brazil. There are chapters on botulism, enterotoxaemia, dermatomycosis, dermatophilosis (caused by Dermatophilus congolensis), bloat, lactic acidosis, laminitis, urea poisoning. Each chapter contains information on aetiology, pathology, diagnosis, prevention and treatment, and is followed by a bibliography
