Description
A high incidence of carpal skin lesions and swelling of the carpus among calves in 2 dairy herds was most prevalent in animals less than 6 weeks of age. The small amount of bedding provided on the concrete floor of the maternity pens, resulting in repeated contusion of the carpal area, was thought to be the cause of the condition
