Description
Claws were obtained for histological and ultrastructural examination from fore and hind limbs of 42 slaughtered cattle. Horn quality depended on intracellular and intercellular factors, and on the size and density of horn tubules. Predilection sites for pathogen entry were present in the white line, at the transition from proximal to distal parts of the digital cushion, and at terminal horn (with its thick tubules)
